Meditation: this word is in vogue. So much people talk about this practice. But do you really know what it is? Do you know the different techniques? If you are practicing, do you have positive results on your well-being?
In reality, people are often lost with all oriental relaxation techniques. They have problems to find a technique or a method that perfectly suits their needs. I have tried various forms of meditation to relax and increase my energy level. Based on my experience I can say: The most convincing and easiest technique for western people is meditation with a Sanskrit Mantra. Just mentally repeat a word in Sanskrit (ancient Indian language): a Mantra. Each Mantra has its own power.
Here are some Mantras: So Hum (I am), Om (Universal Sound), Sham … The correct pronunciation is the key to a successful meditation. The most important rule is to simply return to the mental pronunciation of the Mantra when thoughts or distractions appear. It’s not more complicated; just repeat mentally a mantra while sitting comfortably!
